About the project and methodology
Siltuma Cena is an independent heating-fuel price comparison service in Latvia, covering pellets, briquettes and firewood where offers are available. Offer coverage may vary. The current price history, buying guides and stock planner are pellet-specific.
What the service does
We collect sellers’ published offers. For pellets, we normalize prices to 15 kg and one tonne and calculate orders using actual packaging. Classified advertisements and manual source links are separate from confirmed direct offers. We do not sell pellets or accept payments for them.
Where prices come from
Automatic checks read seller pages. The time beside an offer is our latest successful source reading. It is not a stock guarantee: the seller confirms the final price, quantity, collection address and delivery date. Unreadable pages, changed packaging or unconfirmed consumer VAT cannot become verified recommendations.
Our calculations
For pellets: price per tonne = package price ÷ weight in kg × 1000; a 15 kg equivalent = €/t × 0.015. Total order cost includes goods, delivery, pallet charges and unloading. Unknown charges remain unknown. Pallets of 960, 975 or 990 kg are not treated as one tonne. Useful heat prices depend on calorific value and boiler efficiency; check those inputs for your pellets and appliance.
Data limitations
History begins with our own observations; earlier data is not invented. The chart uses the last available check per product per day, and its product mix can change. The stock planner estimates remaining supply from floor area or your consumption. It does not guarantee weather or delivery dates. We do not provide a universal forecast of future pellet prices.
Independence and corrections
Advertisements are labelled separately and do not change comparison order, prices or availability statuses. To report an error, send the source link, seller, price, sales unit and check time. We will inspect the source and correct a confirmed discrepancy. Suggested sellers are checked before inclusion.
